Save the date

Svjatoslav Richter, one of the greatest musicians I have ever heard live, allowed himself the luxury in his later years after a successful international career to perform only rarely, mostly with spontaneous announcements about place, time, and program. As much as I admired Richter earlier – for example on two unforgettable evenings playing the entire The Well-Tempered Clavier – these late, legendary concerts once again represented an elevation of his playing. He played what meant the most to him, when and where he wanted.

With the due humility and in my own way, I see the attitude of this giant as a role model. After decades of most various appearances, I try to bundle my resources and dedicate them in all intensity to a limited number of selected tasks that are particularly close to my heart.

Thus, apart from long-term scheduling, quite short-term announcements will appear here time and again!
